Nico

Responsive, minimal OpenCart theme

Installation

Unzip the contents of the archive and upload the folder called nico to the /catalog/view/theme folder of your opencart installation.

After upload make sure that the files settings.inc and editor_settings.css located in nico/nico_theme_editor are writable by php, if unsure you can set 766 permission flag

Installation

To use the theme go to admin > settings > edit > store > template and choose Nico

Set your image settings

Go to system / settings/ image and make sure that you use the values given below:

Installation

Home page modules

Also, set this image size settings to any modules you want to display on the homepage (such as Featured, Lates, Bestsellers etc)

Installation

Home fullscreen slider setup

For the slider to function properly the store homepage should not have any modules inserted, by default opencart has latest, featured and carousel modules on homepage, please remove them from homepage.

To remove them go to admin :: modules and click on each module edit link and then click on remove for each row that has Layout column equal to Home

The slider modules needs to have images that are big enough to have crisp images, by default the demo has 1280px X 1024px slider image size, you can tweak this values as you please, this is just the minimum recommend size to have crisp images on most of the desktop monitors

Adding slides

Fist step is to upload the slider images, for this you need to go to admin > system > design > banners and add/edit a banner

(I know, is counterintuitive to mix banners and slider but this is how opencart works)

You need just one banner for all the slide images, just click add banner for each slide image you want to add and then click browse image to upload the image

After you uploaded all slide images, go to admin > modules > slideshow and under the Banner column select the banner that you just used to upload the slide images

Customization

Nico theme provides a panel at the bottom of the page that is visible only to users that have permission to modify layout/design, like admin user for example. This panel allows you to change:

  1. Styles
  2. Colors
  3. Fonts
  4. Sliders and Gallery
  5. Background patterns
  6. Section visibility
  7. Theme settings
Customization panel

If you like the theme please don't forget to rate it.
